TURN DRIVESAFE™ ON
In less than 30 seconds, DRIVESAFE™ completes a system
diagnostic test and purge cycle.
Each of the LEDs will momentarily light up, and then the
green power LED will illuminate while the needle on the
meter will move to full scale and reset to zero. The green
LED will then flash to indicate that the unit is ready for to
test the breath sample.
TAKE A BREATH SAMPLE
The subject should exhale steadily into the mouthpiece and
continuously for approximately six seconds. The green LED
will go out to indicate that a breath sample is being
detected. Observe the BAC meter as the needle moves up
the scale to indicate the presence of alcohol concentration.
READ THE RESULTS
The BAC scale is divided into three color ranges with a
maximum reading of 150 mg% (0.150% BAC):
GREEN generally legal in most jurisdictions
STRIPED warning level, approaching legal impairment
RED danger, level above legal impairment
The measured BAC reading will remain on the meter for a
period of 30 seconds, after which the needle will
automatically reset to zero. Alternatively, the reset button
can be pressed to cancel the present reading, and to initiate
the purge cycle for the next test.
DESIGNED FOR THE FIELD
DRIVESAFE™ uses the same advanced semi-conductor sensor
used in portable police breath testers and is designed to be
the most accurate personal alcohol tester.
DRIVESAFE™ measures only 5.25” x 2.75” x 1.50” and is
powered by 6 AA alkaline batteries. A reusable mouthpiece
and a full one year limited warranty are included.
